There are many types of spiders that can be found in nature all over the world, and their number exceeds 40,000 species, so spiders have been divided into different divisions in order to facilitate their study and identify their characteristics, and perhaps the most famous of the spiders’ divisions are the following:

 

Sliced spiders

  Sliced spiders, whose scientific name is Mesothelae, are one of the ancient species that prevailed in prehistoric times. 

They were characterised as large spiders, as the size of their head is estimated to be as large as a human head. 

They also have black and red skin, and they have the ability to hunt cats. It prefers to be in burrows, and produces silk to make its web.

Cut-off spiders are predators that inject their fangs into the body of the prey after catching it, then secrete its own digestive juices to be able to kill it, and they prefer to feed on reptiles and lizards.

The reason for calling this type of spiders the name of the cut spiders is because their organs appear to be chopped or segmented in the abdominal area, which is similar to the physical structure of a scorpion, in addition to that they are considered primitive spiders that differ from other modern spiders, one of the most famous types (the Brazilian poisonous spider.)
